Default Selling a SORN car

I'm selling one of my cars which is currently SORN. It will be staying off the road. My question is does the new owner have to do anything to keep it SORN'd?

It'll stay sorn'ed until the time is up on it (cant remember if its 6 or 12months) wont it??
I sold a sorn'ed car to a Maltese dude who'd drove from the other side of the UK to buy an £800 civic to take back over to Malta within a few days(!). I took a chance and let him have the whole logbook (needed to take the car out the country).
Needless to say, i got the tax reminder however many months later but just wrote the DVLA a letter to say id sold it and a copy of the receipt.
No probs.

You don't have to do anything mate, it's upto the new owner to re-SORN it
