Budget Ford Track Car ???
Ford fair has made me really want a track car now
i mean really really want.
I am thinking MK1 Mondeo v6? set of coilovers, pollybushes, etc etc..
looking something like this
Any other Fords that will make good track cars, cheapish mind you, as it will probably get written off
p.s done want anything fiesta sized.

Cougar? The same as a mondeo but looks a bit better. Strip it out, drop it on a set of comps and it will look the business

Only on a ford site
Forget all the stuff about it going round bends and stuff, just worry about what it looks like.

I love Fords but they dont make great track cars unless you chuck lots of time and money into them, much better for your pocket to go the Clio/205 route.

No way?! Seriously?
Performance bargain.
I think the tried and tested route of something like an XR2i would be the way forward, or if the budget stretches and you're willing to do some remedial work, a Fiesta RST.

Sod off chip.
The man said he wanted a mondeo. I however pointed him in the direction of a slightly better looking mondeo.

what about something like an xr3i?! slightly bigger than a 2i but easy as fuck to get parts for/replace.
The gf was going to use a mk4 xr3i to do her motorsport licence but its turned out to be rotten and half the parts have ended up on her m4 cabby now

Mk5 XR3i/RS2k cheap as chips. XR2i's are a hoot and you can mod them pretty cheapily. Look at nomaderst's track XR2i 16v. It's a riot on track

Yes, converting an XR4i to RWD is easy mate.
All you need to do is the following:
Stand next to the car.
Shout "I am a cock"
It will be rwd

My recommendation was going to be XR4i - it's RWD it's Ford - but I know nothing of track cars.
