Default Does my front prop turn if I'm coasting not in gear???(4x4 cos)

Looking into replacing my prop because of a vibration issue, just wandered if i got the car up to speed where it vibrates, and took it out of gear etc, would the prop(box to front diff) still be moving?

yeah it would, the prop will always turn if the wheels are..and no need to change the prop, im sure you could change the u.j's on it.

ok cheers, thought there might be a way to test if it was loose in some way, i have a spare complete prop so i'd probably just change it all to save the hassle. Thanks guys.

the wheels go round
the driveshafts go round
the diff goes round
the prop goes round
the only thing that it does when you coast is to not put as much load on as it would see whan you are hamering it or using the engine braking so there is less load on the uj's

not sure but i think you can get replacement gubbins for it from halfords for about £20, easy job to pop them out, you just have to make sure the prop will come out first
