Remove the dust cap

Un- screw the valve core

Fit pump and push down to seal

This should show on your pump pressure guage.

Ah in that case you cant check im afriad mate.

You need to get a pump with guage built in.

Just push the tyre with your thumbs if you can push and feel the rim you need more air. I run mine so I can compress the tyre about 10mm.

Dependant on what your using it for of course.

Just pump them up until they wont compress when you push them.

If its a little too hard or twitchy, drop some pressure.

If your riding around paths and roads put about 60psi in them. Off road in damp conditions about 40psi. Get yourself a hand pump with gauge. Pick one up in halfrauds for about 20 quid.

get down your local petrol station and use the pressure guage on their pump, costs 20p but gets you the right pressure, just becareful not to blow up your tyre

The best pressure is - the lowest you can get away with, if you're off road

If you ride mainly road and hard firm surfaces then get up up to around 50+ depending on what the limit of the tyre is

wen you check your tyres, squeeze from the side walls, and not on the tread of the tyres..i use to run 26x1.5 continental cross countrys, use to have around 80psi on the road for those..my road bike use to have 110-120psi,depending if its wet or dry..if you dont have a gauge, like i dont, spend an afternoon, inflating your tyres till your happy with ride quality,an over inflated tyre will be hard, but give you less rolling resistance, same with tyre compounds,if your doing town riding, use a hard compound tyre, just like cars, tyres are the most important part, hence i use to spend up2 Ł50 for a tyre...

Its ok if you're into dirtjumping etc........if it's second hand it may well have had a hard life. Just check it thoroughly, particularly the bottom of the headtube for cracks and flareing...

G, normally depends on how bad they are, if the rim go's to the right side then try to tighten the spoke(s) on the left side where the problem is.

Also then you might have to tighten 180 degrees opposite to stop it going egg shaped......then i'd stress it....grab 4 spokes at a time and give them a good squeeze, till you've gone round the whole wheel, then adjust again.

Remember to true a wheel you can tighten some spokes, but you can also make the same adjustment by loosening others. The idea is to keep an even tension so you dont have any areas of high stress.

If you run the wheel round and just let something tap against the spokes you should get the same pitched 'pinging' noise from all the spokes. If you dont then you have some work to do
