Hi guys hope you can help me.i am fitting a mt75 gear box to my xr4x4 turbo.i have just broken a '92 xr4x4 2.9. I have props box starter crossmember. But i am just wondering if i need anything else before it goes to scrap.

are you swapping directly from 2.9 to 2.9 or are you doing the 2.8 fitment?
if it's the later then you need everything, including clutch, flywheel, pedal box, clutc cable, starter, complete box and front and rear props

you may also need to do some "fettling"

Swapping from type 9 to mt75 why do i need pedal box and clutch cable?
Does the 2.9 fly fit on 2.8?
What fettling?

easier to change the pedal box to give you the correct quadrant to go with the clutch/flywheel/clutch fork assembly

you may als oneed to fit the brackets for the mount as i don't think the older cars have the sliding bits in the bottom

if you are going to use the 2.9 flywheel then a cossie clutch will fit not a problem

just make sure you get the correct release bearing for teh box though as there are 2 types

Just spent two days struggling my tits off trying to fit this mt75 box.
Using cossie clutch,xr4x4 cover,2.9 flywheel but it will not go on.
Is there a difference in length? Are the crank bearings the same? Please help i have never struggled with either 2.8 or 2.9 like this before and ive done a few.

it hsould fit directly on, there is nothing else that is different because even the bellhosuing is the same, just the depth of the clutch/flywheel combo
