He is still wrong though... it was alot slower than the Focus in the recent Autocar 0-100-0 test.

seems you need a huge step up in power to make a small difference ie the MAD saff yesterday 500bhp 185mph and Rod 750bhp for 17 mph more and the BIG 202
edited to add Porkie is plainly still drunk I never said the 6R4 was faster strange as it has more power i beleive

ok then mike say i put a set of 4.4 diffs in my car...will it make it quicker over the 1/4? i,d say not as 1 it will be more likely to wheelspin and 2 it would require an extra gearchange
in a sprint situation the lower geared car may need more gearchanges to reach the same speed, however once moving on track if both cars have the same gearset the lower geared car will be quicker

KevS,
You grippy Scottish loon, I would suggest you put your hand in your pocket and actually buy some propper tyres rather than those "Marshalls" that you insist on running then .
KevH,
I can feel you are fighting with your sexual preferences from here . Get over it, or should I send Graceland round to relieve your tension?

TBH i am perfectly aware that most vauxhalls are pretty shitty cars.
But you just cant argue with the ease of which you can build a very fast car from a vauxhall nova and a calibra engine.
Takes on a weekend to do the transplant and you have a car that will do 150mph ish, 45mpg if you take it steady and 0-100 will match a standard cossie.
Use the turbo motor instead of the N/A one and you have a car that does 0-100 quicker than a 300bhp cossie and still does best part of 40mpg.
Best of all though, novas are universely hated, so when you wipe the grin off someones face with one, its just even more fun than it would be in something where they expected it.
My fwd nova (which is the far slower of my two novas, but the only one i have official times for so im not going to make claims i cant substantiate) does 0-100mph quicker than a skyline gtr R34 v-spec, you have to see the humour in that surely?

Oh Abso fookin Lutely
You will find that most chaps here are not anti-anything, we are generally a bunch of car nuts, one of whom just saw a prime opportunity to dish out a to the new vauxhall owning member
I will pm you that jet part number over, and to your glee and my embarassment, its a fookin GM part

Pictures of my other nova:
(This is still with the old N/A engine, i havent got any pics of the new turbo one yet.
The turbo engine that is now in it (but still in another nova at this stage)
Outside view (not exactly a sleeper like the red one!)
