So with all this banter,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Will we ACTUALLY HAVE a totb cosworth team this year then??
Reliability is a BIG issue with cossies (as we all know).Yeh they will be (touch wood) done for 2005,but will they all be done for just a track day,and then broke for a month?!?!
I do agree (god what am i sayin ) With Phil,i DO think this year Cossies will be back with a bang.Seans WILL be fookin stoooopid, ive been in Porkies and Broms, and FOOK ME and im sure EVERY1 elses will be too,as EVERYONE wants to be top dog and a "contender"...
Just hope EVERYONES car runs well,as ive seen the cash Sean and Brom have pumped into there cars, and id be suicidel if it went wrong.....
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats his OLD car... which never run any real mad power! New car wil be faster, so I don't understand your 'opinion' at all....
As I said Earlier, Rods record is special and it will be VERY tough to beat that without NOS though
That Jenspeed car is truely off the charts, the money and spec in it are just amazing and a complete wet dream apart from the clear rears!!! Would love to see it timed

I think if you listen to the right people and prepare your car thoroughly and don't skimp and try and stick with crap shit (eg your BD10's!) then you should definatley get over 600bhp and therefore piss to 190mph and Brunters. Will be easily up there with the fastest top speeds achieved then.

Hi.
My car can never be competative with Martins at any Standing Start event or as a Track car, i often use it for work so it will remain a road car. However it will set RWD Targets that will be very difficult to beat.
My aim next year will be to make the Topspeed record more difficult to beat (205+) & run 200+ myself , this is very important to me.
Would also like 10's qtr 0-60 in the 3's 0-100 in the 6's & 0-150 in the 12's, so lots for me next year, but not alas Totb , i hope to have achieved these aims by then & then stop. Someone else can buy my car if they like & enter Totb it will be competitive in RWD Sprint & overall Topspeed at 1.25miles.

GT35 , 2.5 Bar. 640bhp/530ft-lb will run 195 first run if you bother to optimise the gearing , but what the f**k do i know.
But will be trying it very soon so be warned Phil.

It is however a bit noisy for me, compared to my last one. Everyone who goes in it say its perfectly acceptable & not noisy compared to most of the stripped out caged cars.

If Martin's car is close to the Norwegian's time on it's current gearing, I think that if Martin lowered this so that it was hitting 150mph on the limiter (like the Norwegian car is geared for ), that it would decimate the 0-100 times set by this .

5.6 is still staggering also shows what a quality "hooked up" car Martin builds

Kev,
That's like me saying Martin's new, faster, lighter car "could" be capable of 4s 0-100s. However, that would be as stupid as your claim for the Norwegian car, because UNTIL it HAS done the times, then all you can say is the Norwegian car does it in mid 5s and Martin does it in 6s .
And the Carnegie Focus has even LOWER gearing than the Norwegian car . I feel this is pretty apt dont you? -

Kev,
When the gearing is THAT short, and providing that the car is fitted with a suitable gearbox, the lower geared car WILL be quicker . If it WASN'T the case, all the rally-cars / rally-X cars would retain the standard final drive ratios .

i,d argue with that supposing you only need to make 4 gearchanges instead of 5 in around 5.5 seconds the extra change will lose you valuable time however in a track scenario i,d say the shorter geared car will definitely be quicker

My hovercraft is full of eels.
(seems to be about as pointfull a statement as all this chat of a car in the 6s running in the 4s just cause of different gearing and a few kilos light)
Over a second quicker at that level is not just a number, thats a HUGE difference, totally different league altgoether.
Cant see the point in speculating, lets just wait and see what it runs with whatever gearing martin decides on?
