He didnt say anything mate and im only guessing!
Up to Lee if he wants to give any info, I would imagine he is worried people will think he is showing off, but I think most people would actually be really interested in what he does and how much he earns if he was prepared to talk about it, not to mention how he got to that position in the first place.

Yep! I am always intrested to hear stories of how succsessful people got where they are.

I'd say 6/10 for happiness in my job. Very secure and I'm the only person in the company that can do it, pay is not too bad, people I work with are nice but its now got very boring and no job satisfaction at all.

I suspect Lee probably looks at 100K a year and thinks "god, imagine the change to my lifestyle if I was earning that" as well though mate, I bet it would be a bigger change in pay for him than for you if you were both on 100K

i love my job i fit industrial doors shutters n anything to try and keep smackheads and gyppos out, lol. but it can be a hard job i only earn about 19k but i never wake up not wanting to go to work im out and about and prettymuch every job is different everyday. the only time i dont like it is when i have to go to the stinking offle factories theres one in penrith and it knocks me sick but i suppose theres always a downside to any job but i guess thats life.

I hate my current job. Being a security guard is dead end with the only prospects of promotion within the company is to "security manager" in about 10 years when the current guy retires and then not likely as theres people here who have worked for the company longer.
Unfortunately being ill in the last couple of years has basically undone 10 years of my experience. Well thats the way employers see it.
Im going back to uni next year to finally get a 3 degree in abuse studies/psychology which will open up a lot of career options within health care, police, research, even retail industry (youd be surprised how much psychology is used in "product placement", advertisements etc etc).
Hopefully a good degree combined with engineering management courses i did as well as the forces management degree level quals and my general experience of life, military skills etc should mean I can find a good decent graduate position rather than the dead end Ł14k job im in now!!!
Hopefully i should be back up to my former Ł50k earnings by the time im 50

feel slight bad for posting this considering some people cant even get a job......
i've worked at Nationwide Building Society for 10+ years, i enjoyed it at the start but in the 10 years i've only ever done 4 different jobs (my current job is providing Management information for our ATM networK) but i havent emjoyed this role at all
conveniently my old company i used to work for offered me a job, so i've grabbed it with both hands - he's offered me a great package, same salary + a car + commision + oppertunity of directorship
The new company i'm going to work for does mezzanine floors, office partitioning, suspended ceilings, air con
i start next thursday!![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Well my situation is as simple as this -
I'm qualified in IT but can't get a job in my area so i work in distribution on permanent nights with a bunch of complete retards.
The only up side to what i do is i get a lot of time to my self, weekends off and Ł22k per year, as much over time as i want, it's a secure position but no real promotion prospects.

i'm very happy in my job that i started in june. the 50 mile each way, 1 hour commute is not ideal, but doesn't have to be forever.
money should not be a motivator for your job as it's effect will run out quickly (as said, your lifestyle will just absorb it). more important is doing something day to day that you enjoy as you spend the vast majority of your lifetime at work,

I'm happy enough in my job, I'm a dental service tech, so i get out and about lots. Basically you are always trying to solve electrical/hydraulic and mechanic problems, so you are active and i find it rewarding to be able to say, i've fixed something rather than just replacing it.
Only gripe i have is i get paid a lot less than the rest of the guys. Suppose its because they've been doing it a lot longer than me, but its now got to the point they are phoning me for advice, rather than it all being one way traffic like it was when i first started
I know the potential for 50K+ is there, so i don't mind sticking at it and working my way up, as long as it doesn't take too fucking long lol.
I'm not greedy, all i want from my job is to be able to support myself, a house and still be able to afford to do the small things that keep me happy.

Ahhh that explains how you built your pizza hut soo easily lol
Good to hear you are doing well chum, i work with builders/sparks/plumbers quite often and some of them are getting it tough, a few on the other hand have loads of work. Suppose one thing about the recession is its making the good guys stand out from the cowboys...
