after a new car and i must admit i've been looking at skylines, pulsars and evos. But i'm looking more and more at rs turbo's! I keep telling myself. I dont want a shonky old ford

you must like them, otherwise you wouldnt be looking, so buy one if you like them. I think people who think like this are more bothered over what others think rather than what they want!

I know what you mean mate, it's the head or the heart.

Your head tells you to buy something reliable that wont rot to bits, but your heart says buy something you love.

My advice they are only cars and so can be sold, have 6 months in each and see what you prefer.

Hmm, if you're looking at older EVOs I'd pay particular attention to rust. Some of them seem to go quite bad - I don't think some of the early ones were that well rustproofed

Thats the thing though mate, i wouldnt buy one with the intention of selling. It would be a keeper.
I really want one but dont know if i can be arsed spending money on another rs. The other is nearly done. So dont know if i want to open another can of rust.

Its the CVH you don't want ~ Why not try a RS2000 and put a 2.3 Scorpio
in it with Throttle~Bodies ?
Good for 220 BHP of Naturally~Aspirated Fun
