Awesome!

The roof skin provides no structural strength or rigidity whatsoever. It's just a cosmetic panel, no different to a wing. All it's there for is to make the car look right and stop you from getting wet

Who told you that rubbish ?

PS - I'm a automotive body-in-white engineer with plenty of FEA experience. Try doing a torsional stiffness analysis with and without a roof skin.

You can say what you wish, I can see how a roof skin fits having removed one, and can see that it does absolutely bugger all! It's the flimsiest piece of steel I've ever seen, and it's spot welded onto the chassis. If what you are saying is true, my car which is sitting without a roof skin would be structurally less sound than it was with it on, and I can assure it ain't, it's just as solid.

How do I do a torsional stiffness analysis then?

a bit like rattlesnake bodykits, back in the day cool (ish- not for me) but now they are all scrapped cos nobody would buy 1

i know a CF roof is more use that a FG kit but i dunno, in 10 years time will it be against you escos?

I dont really care how this could be viewed by others as its my car and my choice, i love it.
If i ever go to sell it then it will be broken for bits as i will never get the mass of money its cost me back any other way. If somone is looking at having my shell i'd say the climbing frame of a welded in 8 point cage, fat wrc front wings and perspex windows may put them off first.
