What are Coilovers?
What do they do?

Literally what it says a COILed spring OVER a shock absorber.

Although generally its now a term used to mean adjustable ones, as many cars have that config as standard anyway but they dont get referred to the same.

as per chip...

most suspension is coilover

but when people say coilovers theyre usually refering to ones like in that piccy biggins put up, where you have small 2.5inch springs and you can adjust the platform at the bottom making them height adjustable (the bit on that pic where the pring sits, you twist it and it moves up n down).

ive got gaz coilovers on mine, theyre damping rate and height adjustable
