Cool, i had one similar before. Only thing was that the seat was too high and even with my long legs they still dangled a little bit and gave me sore legs behind my thighs.

How high is yours?

I have 2 leather recaros in my garage and want to make bases. Might make some wooden frame though.

I got it from fordpartsuk, their warehouse is near where I live, I was over there a while back and I was looking at it, it was all still wrapped in the ford packaging, paid Ł40 for it, I have no idea where they got it from, but they had loads of them they were trying to shift.

Should have bought the lot and flogged them, Ł40 has to be bargain of the centuary!

How do you actually make these then?

Do you have to weld a base or something?

I had a bit of wood bolted to the base using the runner bolts and then screwed the desk chair base to the wood.

so easy just remove the original runners from the seat and get a base plate of steel which is then welded to the base of the seat at 4 corners!! the remove the bottom of a computer chair and weld it to the steel plate job done

Its from an ST200 mate, they only came with very dark grey leather... its the ST220 that comes with different colours.

Ł40 for an ST200 seat is brilliant, I'd buy one as a replacement to my standard one and use the current one as a seat. Do they have a website to browse Rich??

Cheers,
Grant

Its black. There was a tiny mark in the leather on the side bolster, almost looks like the surface had been just caught with a stanley blade, about half an inch long, bit of permanent marker and its invisible!

But yeah, billy bargain

I'll get some pics later when i can be fooked to go upstairs, been out sweating my bollocks off in the garden today so i'm fooked now!

Mine is similar to the rs1600i seat above, but uses a rover 820 turbo recaro. Just used a sheet of wood and some self drilling screws. 5 minutes of a job.
