Default Escort Cossie problem

Stu mentioned to put this topic in General Discussion ,so I did
I’ve got some problems with my Escort Cossie.
She won’t idle properly anymore, whether the engine is cold or hot , it won’t matter, she keeps hunting. And occasionaly she stalls. When driving everything is just fine and she runs real smooth, no problems whatsoever. But as soon as you stop at the lights or so, the idle problem returns.
I’ve already checked ISCV, fuell pressure regulator, fuse box, ECU, lambda sonde, spark plugs… Also had a quick look for vacuum leak, but didn’t find anything so far.
Is there anything else that could affect the idle speed not being right?
Here’s a little movie , so you can hear what she does. In the end she stalls
Don't mind the dog, he goes bananas when he hears the car.

Btw, a BIG thank you to Stu for his help so far

When I have a car that has idle problems only there's two things I check first.

Firstly check that the base idle speed is correct, by disconnecting the ISCV and adjust the base idle screw under the TB to give around 850rpm when warm.

Secondly you need to check the inlet manifold gasket has'nt either blown out or sucked in. This is more difficult to diagnose as you often can't see if the gasket has been sucked in. Usually if you look at the gasket along its straight sections if it looks like it's bowed either inwards of outwards then chances are its on its last legs.

Have a feel around the ports undeneath the manifold to see if you can feel any gasket sticking out. If you're still unsure for the sake of a gasket just remove the inlet manifold.

There's quite a few other things it can be too, but they are my first usual ports of call for a YB with idle problems.

how can I see that?

@Karl, I turned the idle screw almost completely out and in , no effect. All gaskets were replaced in summer, she ran fine then

If anything needs to be tested, we can because my car has been a donor car for more then 1 occasion now.

If you need ANY bits to try out m8, just ask and unbolt them from my car?

A friend of ours suggested the ECT sensor...

Could this sensor be the cause of the problem or is this impossible?

or it came loose and fell out either way it was leaking from the bottom and the gasket was 2 months old
