Would he genuinely of died from a shock like that then? Sorry if that sounds thick!

The thing that amazed me is the way everyone just stood there!!!! No-one even went to help him!

That'll be 1500v DC you mean for the Indian equivelant - AC would of thrown him a good few yeards, DC just makes your muscles contract and you die where you are

I dont think there is much you can do to help someone who is that dead.

Utterly no chance he survived that!

god damn that he fried quicker than a bastard KFC !!!

i presume the bloke had issues seeing as at the start someone makes a grab for him, or maybe thats just the conductor trying to get his fare pmsl

am i also right in thinking he could be like an indian mongoloid ? seeing as he is totally unaware of what the cable is for ? i mean surely it should of been making that buzzing noise that scares the shit outa me lol

Yeah it looked like DC, as he was still "holding" to it for quite a while after touching it.

Google says:

In India 1500V DC and 25kV AC, 50 Hz, is used for main line trains.

The 1500V DC overhead system (negative earth, positive catenary) is used around Mumbai. The Mumbai region is the last bastion of 1500V DC electrified lines on Indian Railways

So I guess thats where it must have been.

Looks to me that he knew exactly what he was doing. Why else would a crowd have gathered and someone film it? Looked like somebody tried to pull him down off the carriage too. What a way to go!

He went charcoaL completely and then smouldering like fook. Then caught fire..

AC or DC it must still have proper hurt like fuck, even for the few milliseconds he'd have been conscious! 1500 dc sounds about right as he has to get very close to the wire for the flashover to happen. He must have been fucked in the head though as you can hear the discharge when you get close to the conductors and its scary as! When I test at 50kV the last thing going through your mind is "I wonder what that feels like?", its more like "you can keep me the *uck away from that"!!
