zetec manifold
hey guys would it be best to use a rs focus manifold on a 2.1 black top zetec or an rs cvh manifold cheers also what turbos do both use as standerd am i right in thinking the rs cvh use a t3 turbo

click my sig, there are some pics of my 200sx manifold somewhere lol, they are not great pics tho
i basically cut off the 200sx flange, and modifed a zetec flange to fit, then had it welded on.
they are for a top mount turbo tho, and if its to go a fwd car, then you will either have to cut a bloody great hole in the bonnet, or might get away with turning it upide down

the rs manifold will limit the power, but at what leve i dont know. i think they are good for something like 350bhp, although i may be completly wrong. but deffo best for a direct fit.
cool cheers think ill go for a escort manifold then as they are the t3 and go for a focus rs gear box for the lsd in it
its not holding my car back as yet, every time we add more boost it makes more power heres a better pic of it.
ps it started life as a rover inlet.

are the de-comp plates any good? i was thkning bout building it up with forge rods and pistons to be on safe side as at some point no dowt ill want more boost jow shitty is the adaptor plate for the rs manifold or would i be best getting mate change the lange or sorcing a rs focus one instead

cams i dunno which to run yet? after market was thinking mega suirt or summit like that and as i said too to start with 200 max about 300 bhp out of it

bottom end rebuild with steel rods forged pistons
standard head and cams
up-rated valve springs
t34 on a budget / my choice gt2860
good front mount cooler
475cc injectors
tubular manifold
rover inlet
2.5" system
thats not a bad list at all i got a 1.8 black top iin there atm i dunno if to turbo that or find a cheap 2.0 head to fit onto it
rods and pistons £800
new oil pump £80
crank re grind £50
re-bore £70
new bearings £120
st170 head gasket £30
bottom end gasket set £50
new cam belt £40
new cam belt tensioner £40
valve springs £300
so theres aprox £1800 just in parts to build the bare engine then you have
a good intercooler £350/400
injectors £100/300
inlet, depends what you want ?
exhaust manifold "" ?
turbo"" ?
exhaust system £300
loads of samco for your boost pipes ect
cossie fuel pressure reg £75
management £500/£1200 depends on what you want
and the mapping thats about £100 per hr
it all add up fast i should mate and there will be lods of little things that i have missed

hi mate there are lots of options of different turbo manifolds for zetecs and lots of prices as well , lets start with the cheapest first
first is cvh erst but you will have to drill and tap the head as they have different bolt patterns £40 for manifold and £50 for drilling and tapping
focus rs manifold but you would need to use a gt28 turbo , £100
then its the obx pretty cheap but have heard that they crack and on more than one
i think they are about £250 on ebay

then theres the hansen turbo manifold that jamsport uses , very well made and built
again i think about £650

then theres area six manifolds which place the turbo over the gearbox , there are 3 stages of build .

cone design good for 500+bhp £550

the new merge collector will out flow the cone design (600+bhp) £650
with merge collector fitted with 2 v band clamps , 1 at the end of the merge collector and 1 at the turbo flange allowing the turbo to be fine adjusted to every cars engine bay (600+bhp) £850
all area six style manifolds can come with external wastegate options
then theres primary designs manifold , very similar to the obx manifold but alot more costly at £1000

or you may be able to get a wrc manifold which cost anything between £700 to £1500 if you can find one and would most probably need cutting and fabricating to fit your engine bay

hope this helps
