Unhappy Power leak?

Hi all,

In the last weeks I've renewed my accu/battery and fully rebuild my alternator. They we're both bad.

Everything seemed to work fine, till I today tried to start the car (saff 2wd).
The battery was not completely empty, but to low to start the car, after leaving it alone for about 9 days.

I don't think this should be normal.

Can someone give me some pointers on how to check if something's using power, while the car is off/parked?

Any help appreciated.

Test the battery with a volt meter and see if it has a drain? something must be draining the power gradually?

Just went for a ride, after putting the battery on the quickloader for 30min.
Had a strange incident on the freeway, was driving about 120kmh when the power went completely away, no rev's no dash etc etc.

Found out that one of the plus (+) cables had a bad connection and was burnt, reconnected it and drove home.
Tomorrow I'll get some new cable connectors/eyes and put them back.

Could it be that that bad connection on the battery caused the leak?

Might be that it was badly connected, so wasnt charging the battery properly/all the time?
