some people forget so easily.....he is class when fit. easily would have done englands record for goals without a silly move to madrid and injury.
Form/fitness is temporary, class is permanent......can see him being uniteds next teddy sheringham

At first glance i thought the title said Michael Jackson to join Man Utd and that it was going to be a joke like... whats the differece between alex ferguson and michael jackson? Alex ferguson will be playing Giggs next year
#13
i agree with you on that one, i doubt he will be as successful as teddy coz hes a legend!! typical fergie tho, would rather sign someone cheap, or in this case free, than spend some money!! i welcome it though, hes been a target for united before, fergie wants his man!!!
#14
the only reson man united are buying cheap is because of the world cup next year we want have a good season this year but next will be red hot coz well buy all the top players from the world cup fergie aint stupid

Agree, Fergie is always doing this.
Teddy- old and cheap
Henrik larson- old, loan
TeveZ- loan
And all So far did a job but hope we get another big signing. Ronaldo has been replaced
already. Like tevez he won't be first choice but should beat 5 league goals even with injuries.

Its not even a risk really. For what he will cost in wages (far below newcastles levels) and with a top quality team of medics/fitness experts behind him i believe he will come good again.

Will be a great signing for man utd imho. regardless of the injurys, he's proven quality, there getting him for free, wont have to pay him silly wages, so nothing to lose really.

Got a lot of heart, but unfortunately, that means jack when his body isn't what it used to be. When he left Liverpool, that was the worse move of his career. Didn't get to play much in Madrid and ended up injured a lot of the time. Dissapeared for a while and came back a much bulkier player....didn't work for him because he was a lot slower than what he used to be.

Owen is a proven goalscorer, his record is fantastic and if you think he'll flop in a side like Utd's, i think you're wrong.
Time will tell though.

Brilliant
Part of me is annoyed that a once great Liverpool player wants to play for Man U but the rest of me is PMSL@ man u wanting him and the thought of him being as useless there as he's been at real or newcastle

Just been on SkySports News that he is at Carrington having his medical now, i think if anyone is going to turn his career around then its Fergie. Will be good at united aslong as he can stay fit
#24
Aint the player he use to be, aint got the pace no more. Will more than likely be injured for most the season. Shud of played for newcastle for nothing for the amount they have paid him while being crocked. good luck to man utd if they do get him

Exactley, he'll be a great Super Sub. Only time will tell regarding his fitness but he's a good experienced player, you can run your arse off all match(Tevez) & still not score many goals so pace isn't everything.

if i'm being honest i would pick owen over berbatov every time, berba just looked like he couldn't be arsed all season, to me, that was a waste of 30 odd million quid.
now valencia in to replace ronnie, discuss that............

Brilliant brilliant Impact sub. Seem to forget he scored a goal every two games with that Monkey club from the North East. At united he'll get decent service and WILL score. What a brilliant player to have on the bench too. A good signing, just a shame he's gone to the rags.

Quite sad how many Owen haters there are out there , was always a great player for England, and as a Liverpool fan I was gutted to see him go. It is just unfortunate how many injurys he has had, and I firmly believe that he will be fantastic (unfortunatly) for Man U, he scored plenty with a very poor Newcastle team round him, and at 28 he is hardly over the hill is he?

I'm hoping to see him back in the england squad.......he was mr relaible for england when he was at liverpool, in that form hed be back in the world cup squad no bother, and we'd be all the better for it
#32
I fuckin hate Utd though, so i hope he fails, but my head is telling me he'll get at least 15 goals in the PL.

Berba wasn't a waste as he was practically playing in midfield as a linkman but still scored more than Tevez. Now Ronaldo is sold hopefully he will play as main striker with Rooney second striker and not on LW. Valencia is meant to be harding working than Ronaldo was, also a more natural winger. The system will just chance.
Antonio Valencia a player in good form at 23 and two years of Premiership experience is surely a better replacement than an 18 year old potential was for David Beckham no? It will be more instant this time not years of developing.

I think Owen is a good bit of bizz , no fee and hopefully not demanding huge wages doubt he will be as he must realise that this is the last chance at the top , and a cabinet full of medals is worth more at this point, i mean he must be a multi millionaire , fingers crossed for Man u & Owen .

Are you out of your fucking mind Chris?Ive never seen someone so dis-interested in what he was doing more so then when I was watching that cunt, mincing about in NEWCASTLES half instead of playing on the shoulder of the centre half, and to be honest he isnt THAT lethal, some of the chances he missed were an absolute disgrace considering what everyone claims him to be.
I was listening to him on SKY the other day, what about this for cheek, " well obviously I wont be re-negotiating my contract at Newcastle with what happened last season,I want to play in the Premiership so we`ll see what happens"
Erm yes Michael, you didnt do what you were paid to do and it ended up being one of the main reasons we were relegated....NOT ENOUGH FUCKIN GOALS FROM OUR MAIN STRIKERS, aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it boils my piss.
Im absoluterly staggered Ferguson is taking a gamble on him, the cunt only had the cheek to land in the middle of the racetrack in his helicopter last week at the Northumberland plate!!!!!!

A great signing, "when fit" hes a proven goal scorer at every level. Hes managed a goal every other game wherever he played - even in his darkest injury riddled days at newcastle.
And its not like he wont get the service from the rest of the Man Utd team........ wonder what odds youd get on him being top goal scorer next season?
Great bit of business by Fergie imo.
