Strangely mounted cop car lights
#5
but thats not the point elvis, they dont normally chop the roof up on undercover cars anyway
So i can see no reason for it unless theyve had a major policy shift and that all undercover cars have to show roof lights now due to stupid teen car thieves killing themselves on police chases

Did you actually see a cop inside the car ?
its the type of setup you would see being used by the fire brigade be it a station offices car or chief divisonal officer , just a thought

They sometimes use hire cars for training etc, this might be one
Defo won't be an undercover one, some of those are pretty sneaky when you look at them!
I have the amber version of that beacon at work - the magnetic one is only supposed to be used up to 50mph, they've probably gone for the bar mount get get round this.

i wouldn't be stopping if that tried to pull me over !!! it looks home made !!!
It looks like one of them you see on tv that rob taxi's!
If you dont trust a car thats trying to pull you over, the guide lines are to drive to the nearest police station, They cant do you for not stopping then.

Theres a guy who lives on our estate, exactly the same BMW, colour, etc etc, he's a commander or something for the fire service.
The bars always on the car, even when he's shopping at sainsburys LOL

Theres an Evo Fq400 that prowls the A120 between Stanstead and Colchester.
Really clever lights, all blue strpbes hidden in between the top fins/spoiler bit on the rear window.
And also there are 4 lights in the bumper which are made to look like parking sensors
Also often see a VW passat TDI V6 4motion, again with the same set up.
I dont see why the BMW pictures above is at all crude, the suckers are obviously there as to not damage the bodywork. Saving money and time (as its transferable in seconds, so no instalation costs).
As has been said its probably on a rack to reduse drag to enable the top speed with out losing the lights!
Dont forget not all drivers out there are that "aware" sadly . I bet half the drivers out there wouldnt even blink twice or notice them lights on there, untill theyre flashing!
(not sure with the fire explanation tho as all the fire cars ive ever seen are red, which would make sence, but i guess its possible)
