Default help needed urgently!

im trying to fit my coilover kit to my escort cosworth, but ive undone the damper and got that out of the way but cant get the spring out. any1 got any tips please? c

sorry im on about the rear at the mo, do i have 2 remove the drive shaft?

If it is a standard spring you may need to use spring clams to compress it enough to remove. Most shorter lowered ones can be freed using a crowbar to lever the wishbone down.

it is a standard spring. tryed levering it as much as i can and still no joy.

Spring compressor is the only way to get the standards out without undoing the rear brake lines. Thats what stop it being levered down any further.

unclip the brake line out of the retainer on the body, undo the big bolt that goes through the doughnut at the front and get a big bar to push the arms down!
on the passenger side, undo the brake t piece from the body also as the brake line into it is very short and prone to snapping

It won't be stiff but the bump stop arrangement on the body makes it hard to get long springs out.

did cross my mind but i ent got a grinder so best i can do is a saw. and knowing my luck id cut through the brake line

you'll be there forever with a saw go buy a cheepo 10 quid grinder and a pack of 5 quid disks and you'll soon have the spring in bits - cut it in 3 to get it out, nice n easy
