666lbft for rods then on race fuel

I guess roadgoing wise though we should be talking pump fuel, and I dont recall rod's pump figures off hand, I am sure they were over 600lbft though, 620 ish I guess, im sure Rod will know though

Surely a spike torque figure doesn't tell all the story either?

Would it not be area under the graph that should help give a proper picture or potential performance?

Cheers

The thing that matters most for performance is the area under the portion of the graph actually used in anger, if you keep your car in a narrow power band with a close ratio box for example, a wide spread of torque is of no significant use to you unless you find yourself caught in the wrong gear for some reason.

Rod's is a fucking monster from an "area under the curve" point of view.

Its well over 500lbft from 4500 to 7500

I dont have the final graph i dont think, but this is one of the ones from during his mapping on pump fuel which gives a good indication:

Chip - exactly.

Quoting a peak bhp number or a peak torque figure is just as bad as each other.
