Its a nightmare mate

Always goes up in price, If you change ins group radically a lot of them wont reinsure.

Also generally costs £20-40 each time in admin fees.

I cant get trade insurance reasonably priced as im only 26 with no no claims and im not actually a Trader.

I wish there was another way.

I've never had a problem changing cars regularly (but by that i mean every 6 months or so) or owning a few at a time. They've always been very helpful in taking my £25 admin fee!

Could be wrong here, but if you change cars quite a lot isn't it more a case that the DVLA might take an interest as you could be a trader but not registered? Like i said i could be wrong, might be complete bollocks, just remember hearing it somewhere. If someone knows different i'd be happy to be corrected.

I have this problem as im always getting board an changing my cars around , Did have a trade policy for a small amount of time with Road runner but decided to cancel it just incase i was involved in an accident etc as im sure they would manage to swerve any claim as im not a Trader..

I had 4 different cars in my first year driving. They'll take an admin fee as someone has said above, which covers their 'trouble'. If they said anything to me I would take my business elsewhere, as it's nothing to do with them what cars I choose to own. They get my premium and should be grateful.

I have changed about 8 times in the last year and no problems,do it all online in minutes too with no penalty. You can have up to 4 cars at once aswell along with vans, bikes etc ... http://www.ecarinsurance.co.uk/

Of course there is no problem, its not illegal is it. They get their admin fee so they're happy with it.

if you keep with cars in the same insurance group roughly you will be fine.

But say you went with a small engined diesel merc to an m5 like i did the insurance company wont insure, so you will have to cancel and start again.

You can go up or down with ecar,it just refunds you or you pay extra with card,no admin fees either.

Also, I'm with Elephant at the moment who gave me a great quote for my Focus, and a good one on an Sti too, but they will not insure me with any modifications whatsoever. So if I wanted to go down that route I would have to find another insurer.
