Default Recommended Cossie Battery ?

Can anyone recommend a good battery for a Cosworth (Rating (ah) etc).
And what is the advantages of the GEL batteries.

I may even move it to the boot/rear seat area.

thanks

Halfords silver or platinum (Can't remember) batteries are made by Varta apparently. I have one on my Skoda (The biggest I could fit) and not got any problems. The Varta equilivent was £50 more expensive and only 2amps better rating.

Get a Halfords Trade card and pick up £20-50 off batteries. Mine retailed at £100 I paid £67

Varta don't make halfords, Yuasa do.
Varta gel or std regular varta blue.
Gel is a lot better for cars used infrequently as they have exceptionally low self discharge compared with regular lead acid, or calcium.
Also if gel does go completely flat it will not be damaged unlike non gel, can be used in any angle, needs no venting, higher CCA for given size, but much more costly.
Oddessy do a spiral cell gel if wanting even more power.
