right ive fitted an amal valve out of a renault (had it lying around)
and it doesnt run the boost it should.

what size are the holes in the amal valve supposed to be?
W = wastegate? what size hole?
C= compressor? what size hole?
R=recirc? to air filter? as in the bleed, what size hole?

i wanna make sure the bleed holes are correct size before i go looking else where, theres no boost leak and the -31 actuator is set to what the msd chip paperwork says to set it at.
cheers

Have you checked the air temperature sensor's not gummed up with crap or knackered, and 'lying' to the ECU, thus losing boost?

yep, just fitted all new sensors.

ive never had an amal valve before so its down to this as to y its lost boost, it used to have a Tpiece fitted in the actuator pipe, thats what gave it the boost but i want it controlled properly by the msd chip.

aparently the holes should both be 2.5mm so im just about to go check.

Just cos it's new, don't assume it works properly

You can check it's working by connecting it while the engine's running - should click nice and loud. On a Sierra, it's powered by the fuel pump relay (as is the ISCV).

How much boost are you missing?

it does loudly tick when ign is turned on.
and ive just measured the holes
the R hole was 2.5 but ive opened it to 3mm
the C hole is 2mm

im going to power engineering tomorow for a setup so it will get sorted then, i just wanted to get most of the work one before i got there.
