No its not refrigerated it is a walking floor. i can load tru the roof hence the bleu thing on top and load via the back with the floor. It moves and pushes automaticly the load out of the trailer. (sorry for the bad english.) Just google walking floor.

Cool job, would love to drive for a living but after seeing my bro take 2 years to get a job using his class 2 HGV license it kinda put me off. That was back in 2000

I'll put some pics up of the trucks I drive, they're not show trucks but some of the newer MANs and ERFs are nice trucks are all the same. My old Merc curtainsider is a little tatty, but it drives well and has been a lot of laughs getting stuck down lanes, watching customer's dropping stuff off their forklifts etc!

I work for a Cattle feed company - delivering down narrow lanes in Somerset and Dorset - hence 8 wheelers are the largest trucks we can run.

Pics:

My old Merc 1823 (as in gutless 18 ton 230 horsepower)

The same place but in the wet, couldn't get up the slope so had to unload 2 tons from the front of the truck, up the slope from the headboard and out the back doors :

Same delivery address, the access was a little tight:

Some other tight lanes:

And who puts stupid piddly walls right on bends :

And low bridges, my truck is only 12'3" high, but most of our local bridges are 12' dead on :

As you can see, the top corners of the body are slightly battered

My truck next to a quite large Ford tractor, this one used to run 500 bhp, detuned to 360 which even by large modern tractors is still epic output wise:

I get to drive customer's loaders when they're not around as well - some pics:

Manitou:

JCB (good lift height):

Lambo (tractor ):

A customer:

The ancient Volve, well and truly buggered:

Our old Scania, now retired:

On the farm with the 06 ERF:

56 ERF:

And what I've been driving for the last 2 weeks - 09 MAN TGS360 - quite nippy empty, and so quiet on longer runs, far better than things like the Scanny with vertical exhaust stack. My ears hurt less now!

And finally some "Fail" type pics:

The fuel pump at our local filling station, 1 day after it was installed:

A half ton bag worth approx Ł150 on the floor - customer tilted his forks forwards, not backwards as he drove off :

Same thing here - 1.2 ton of stuff worth Ł700 - young lad on a tractor lifted it off the lorry, then tipped it forwards not back and dropped the lot on the edge of the slurry lagoon

Some wasted feed due to a customer not emptying his bin before delivery:

Loading fails- one of our forklift driver's is a bit of a clown:

None of my posts about my vehicles would be complete without the obligatory broken down photos:

My turbo after a 2 mile hill climb:

My body chassis after one particularly solid tree hit the top of it:

The prop shaft bearing, you should have heard the noise it made driving home:

On tow:

Hope you like!

Aye served my time on Fodens (CAT engines) and loads of other brands .. The best Pound for Pound truck is the old Scania 143 450hp

I moved up a few rungs now and work on bigger equipment .. The biggest truck ive worked on was a CAT 797B 400 ton with twin 3512 V12's in tandem ... The newest Hush Hush trucks have the new C175 V20 . But i couldnt comment on them at this time.

Can dig out some pics if anyones interested?

Yum diddly yum. That's a nice unit. I did a trade plating job to rack up some experience and used to deliver them on contract for MAN in Swindon.

Rarely pulled a trailer, and the unit on it's own with suitable block shifting was pretty damn quick from 20-56 mph. Used to stop in Supermarkets for meals (good cheap restaurants for when you're living out for the week) and seeing people's faces as you pulled in XXL cabs was always amusing.

Looks nicely accessorised as well
