Default Trackday exhausts

I just removed a Power Eng system from my 3dr trackcar as it was too quiet and replaced it with a Mongoose and to my surprise it was virtually as quiet. I am considering bypassing the centre box on the mongoose but will that make it too loud to trackday?
Anyone have any experience of how loud they are with the centre box removed?

Cam

you got no chance if you remove the center box , my mongoose has 2 boxes and when it was new i went to castle comb to do a trackday.

Theydone a noise test first,it was 104db. @4000rpm......because i have had the exhaust on the car for about 4/5 years it now makes 94/95db because it's full of carbon

Exhausts get louer as they get older.... my old mongoose failed everywhere, just bought a brand new one and I can just sneak through on the minimal boost at most places. If I try and run any decent boost though it will trip the noise meters...

I am dropping the car off at Hayward and scott this afternoon though for a one off system

If its flowing the gasses okay keep it quiet

They are getting more and more strict, and its only going to get worse

Spot on advice as usual

standard M3 CSL's, GT3's and Ferrari 360 CS are all race bred cars and totally aimed at trackdays... yet they all fail noise tests

Porkie

I can't understand this if this is the case ..... ask Martin we went to castle comb the exhaust was Brand new not even on the car for 2 weeks..

I couldn't get on at all because the nosie from the exhaust was 104 db @4000 rpm

like i said its well low now maybe because it's full of carbon built up over the yrs

Marco, exhausts get louder as they get older. Remember shonkys mongoose at ND... sounded like a JET PLANE!!! new exhaust and it was fine.

My new Mongoose makes the car ALOT quieter.
