Would you recommend it for a weekend break for a family? Would normally do the usual places, skegness, Bridlington, Scarborough etc but fancy a change...just somewhere not to far for a weekend break in July with the little un and my parents. Wondered if Southport was any good? .....

Yup me!!!

I can think of better places to goto to be honest mate. Its a bit crap for the kids now Pleasureland has closed down too, although theres a new indoor water park thingy called Splashworld thats ok.

 

Shes only 2.5yrs so theres not much anywhere TBH mate for her! Whats the beach like? Is it clean?

TBH thats what people usually say, oh theres not much here, BUT, what is there anywhere? LOL

We used to got to Morecambe when i was young as my uncle lived there, when it was thriving. Seen it go into decline with Frontierland and bubbles going etc, and now being regenerated, but still like to go as on a sunny day its a nice long promenade, they have done the beaches with imported sand and theres a few nice places to eat etc....thats all we look for!

I was thinking Southport might be a similar place! I know Pleasureland got some of Frontierlands rides trhen closed itself also!

Lee, not that good really. not that much to do.

might be better going to Blackpool instead of Southport.

 

Spent a week in North Wales, Llandudno, Conwy, great places, good beaches , castles and a nice zoo.

Yeah me too mate last year and year before, very nice places in North wales and hoping to get the car over there this year
