Default BMW E36 Compact - Central Locking help needed

I have a E36 shape BMW 316 Compact on a V Reg. Can anyone help with why the cnetral locking doesnt work?

I dont think it should have remote locking should it? If this is the case then even if i didnt have the remote the central locking should still activate when the drivers door is locked and unlocked with the key? Am i right?

We have replaced the control module that does the locking, windows and various other interior items but this didnt cure it.

Can anyone tell me what the wire colours should be for Lock and Unlock going into this box?

Any other help would be gratefully received.

Have you checked the switch on the back of the lock inside the drivers door ?

Inside the drivers door theres a trigger switch that is attatched to the lock mechanism , its the one that sends the signal to the locking interface(certain models/not sure on yours) . its easy to find as its the only wires that go to that specific part.
We had 2 or 3 breakdown which caused the central locking to instantly unlock itself when you tried to lock the doors. its expensive from a mainstealer and maybee cheaper to fit an aftermarket remote locking system if its buggered.

Doesnt sounds like it is that as the doors all lock manually and unlock fine also.

Do you know what colour wires are lock and unlock?

the solenoids are known to go on these, you might want to start there.
