Whats the time limit on speed ticket notification?
My Mrs just got a letter about disclosing who was friving her car when it was cought by a speed camera doing 38 in a 30
The letter stated the offence as the 11/5/09
Said letter arrived 4/6/09 though it was postmarked 2/6/09
I make that 22 days via the postmark and 24 by arrival, which cannot be confirmed of course.
I thought they had to inform you within 14 days? is this true?
The Mrs filled in and returned the form the same day, as she panicked and did'nt want me to see it!!
Any idea how she's stands on this?
Thanks

PassionFord Post Whore!!
She should still have a look at pepipoo in case there is a get-out-of-jail technique even after sending the info back.
But if there isn't, this might make her feel a wee bit better about having returned it:
If the car is registered to someone else, they may have served the letter to the registered keeper within the time limit. From there on in, there is no limit on the time they take to contact subsequent people. E.g. leasing company, then lessee (the employer), the employee, and eventually the actual driver (if that was a wife/son, whatever).

Yes there was the option of the course at a cost of £110 and 6 hours of your day!!
But seeing as this the only points she will have on her license and that it basically will not affect her insurance, she's going to take the points.
She's only just got rid of her previous 3 points last month!! Oh, how I laughed
