I know you say you want to keep it std'ish but a set of springs makes them look so much better!

Mines all std at the moment and if I sell my type r I'm going to fit a quiet exhaust sytem, and remap the stock ecu. I really love my wagone, it's been handy as fook and with a few mods I love the look and the fact it's not a saloon.

Think its originally from my area too going by the numberplate... history might be Town and County Subaru in Perth which was the biggest dealer in the area at that time, although it possibly could have come via Kenneth Melville in Errol too.

If you haven't got any paperwork for a MAF sensor change then I'd recommend doing that as a precaution if/when you're giving it a fresh service, they're quite fragile on the MY99/00 models and if they go tits up... then they'll be fuelling all over the place and take the engine with them. So its worth replacing for the sake of around £70-£80.

Cheers,
Grant

I did indeed come from there mate, as a Doctor had it from new......

It went from Perth to Sheffield, Then to Oxford, Then to Liecester......then to me...........So i am the 5th owner

Thanks for the info on the Maf........... It has full Subaru Service History and has recently had a belt change, but i will take a look and see if the MAF has been done.....If not, i will get it changed.

From what someone told me, yes as the green label ones are better, so people have changed for these when theirs have gone.

BUT I can't confirm it. I'm sure someone on here will know for certain, but I'll also try and get it confirmed one way or another

AJC wants one of these to use as hs smoker this winter, his intentions are to never wash it, drive it hard and see if it dies, when it does, strip it

EXACTLY the sort of Subaru i'd buy. No trace of "chav" and super clean.

I understand totally your rationale behind buying it and it looks a proper cared for example.

Whats the mileage Tiff?

Cheers Matt.....glad someone see's what i was after,lol

I started looking at 1999/2000, 60k mile ones that were standard and they were fetching close to the 3.5k mark........Which i wasnt to bothered about...

BUT

After speaking to a few people they pointed me into the route i went for......

This W plate 2000 model has just clicked 102k...............BUT

It has FULL subaru dealer history, 5 owners, the first being a Doctor that used it as an "On call Car"

Its had all the belt changes needed and the recipts in the book tally up 100%

Is Standard apart from a De-Cat and Pipe......which was the ONLY thing i was willing for it to have.

And i got it for alot less than 3.5k

In my eyes, the saving i have made by it having another 40k on the clock is not a problem, as it has been well looked after and never messed around with......

These cars are cheap now..........so paying the "Premiem" for a 60k mile car didnt make sense to me.....

And its a very tidy car

102k... You could have told me it had 40-50k and I'd have believed you from those pictures mate, it looks MINT. Being a UK Turbo with two cats as standard, is it the de-cat downpipe that it has, or a de-cat centre section?? You can tell if its a downpipe by a quick look, the stock one will be a big clumsy heatshield covered thing and aftermarket will either be wrapped or smooth and obviously non-stock.

If its the de-cat centre, then I wouldnt be too fussed about having it mapped up.. wont suffer boost creep etc with that fitted.

Cheers,
Grant

The 1995 MAF will not fit.

The 'green label' confusion may come from the fact they revised the MY99/00 MAF sensor and it has a green dot on it..

The 99/00 MAF is a available from importcarparts for about £80, if you need one only buy a new one and reset the ecu.

If it's not messed around with you want the original wheels then

Looks nice mate, they do drive great and are really good fun in the wet. Mine has been well fettled and has the prodrive geo settings so no understeer and turns in nicely, proper point a squirt motor.

More i drive mine more i fall in love with it. Got to get rid of it soon though as its far to juicy for a daily runner.
