Just wondering if its worth swapping my 1.8 cvh for a dohc 2.0 8v any advantages? disadvantages? any help appreciated cheeRS melv

i basicley got the dohc any ways its just my car straight as fcuk an i love me sierra

what about putting RST bits on the 1.8 cvh? would that work? obviously have to run low boost, unless swapping pistons, but still faster than a 2.0 dohc?

i would love to turbo it but i dont think the cruddy cvh in the sierra would do it i want a cossy lump but money is tight as a nuns u no what!!! zetec would be nice but still moneys not there i need a job!!!!

the sierra cvh shares virtualy nothing with the rst cvh, other than the name, totally different beast

as for the dohc, there are plugs behind teh battery that do what you need to do and are linked ot the ecu

very simple swap if you've got the gearbox to go with it, just find the rev counter wires and swap the fuel tanks and job done

oh will my prop bolt on to the dohc box

not if it's the type 9 box
you need the dohc prop for that as it bolts onot the back of the box rather than slides in

if you want pas you will need the whole caboodle including the pump bracket for the alternator as well as the tensioner on the front of the engine

the rack is the same for all 2wd cars and you could probably rob the bits from a granada as it all fits

lol i wish u could fix it!!!! it was a nightmare doing the loom errrrrrrrrrr dreading putting it in mine lol loads of good thing comre out of the car so im happy as larry
