Default Mobile Phones & bluetooth

Wheres a good place to get a new phone (prefer Nokia) and contract provider from. I keep hearing so much about 3 but is it any good? Also what phones are good and in as I dont want last years model for this years price, if you know what I mean ....

I'm currently with T mobile and would still like 100 cross network minutes and possibly 50 texts. Has anyone got any web site links?

Also can someone briefly explain bluetooth and does it mean you've got to walk arounf like MC Hammer with one of those gadgets hanging off you ear?

bluetooth is a short range wireless communications media...

it allows devices to communicate with each other via radio waves. the range isn't great either.

some phones are bluetooth compatible nowadays, that means that they can communicate wirelessly to other devices such as: PCs, Printers, Headsets etc. etc.

a bluetooth headset is just a normal headset but don't have any wires on it....

but thats not all bluetooth does...

for most people all you need to know is that bluetooth allows you to send and receive pictures to other bluetooth phones use a BT headset and if you got bluetooth on your PC/Laptop you can use the mobile phone as a modem without connecting it with a cable...

A phone shop?

Truthfully though, just have a look at the online deals at T-mobile. If you don't mind changing your number, you can get phones free and more minutes and texts.

im after a 6230 too from boxing day onwards (day contract is up)

bluetooth works upto 10 metres from another device.

make sure you set your phone as hidden too, my uncle went into the carphone w house to get a new one and when he left with his old fone he had 3 peoples worth of data (numbers, calendars etc)

its called bluejacking i think, like hacking with b tooth. can be fun though i spose. you turn blue tooth on and it will tell you all the enabled devices in that 10mtre area (fun in public places)

Dean saff: Why don't you get a bluetooth usb adaptor for your pc? I reckon they'll be about the same price if not less than a cable.

Something like this:
http://www.mrbrand.co.uk/product_inf...products_id/65

Bluetooth doesn't cost anything to use, it uses radio waves (2.4ghz) hence; free

Dave.
