has anyone done the new bike test yet or know of anyone that has?just wondering peoples opinions on it??cheers

I know it was supposed to start in October last year, then it got put back to March this year, then April. Not looked into it any more so not sure if its come into play yet.

yh the new test is in place now.you have to do a swerve test now to avoid anything in the road,which i think is dangerous

get this months RIDE magazine for a good supplement about being new to biking.

several people have crashed on the new test and the first one even broke a bone

I'd like to know how hard this is too.

Whats the score with passing your test to ride a big bike? Is it similar to the last rules? If your 21 or over you can just do your direct access then can ride anything?

The new test sounds like a bag of wank, i did my test about 4 years ago and in my opinion there was nothing wrong with it. I'd say the only problem there is was the cbt being to easy, you go out on the road for a few hours and then you have a swarm of 16 year old scruffy cocky cunts smogging out the local area thinking there valentino rossi.

The CBT id better than nothing though like before! At least they get that little bit of training! I do think that age should be raised to 18 though, too many young knobs about like you say!

they now have to do skid controll..opposite my work on a car park they learn every saturday morning ..seems to be one or two falling off big bikes every weeki know the instructor and he says its a fookin knightmare glad i did mine few years back i bet they scrap it shortly

i did my test at the end of 2006. i was good at skid control when i needed it, i used the side of a passat to come to an abrupt stop as she turned right, into a no right turn in front of me

iirc they introduced it just as i was doing mine, or roughly around then 94ish???? Could be wrong though but its not been forever has it?
