Default HKS ECV setup problems

I'm trying to setup an HKS ECV IV on a Cossie, followed all the instructions to the letter, it goes through it's learning phase just fine but cannot achieve full bost. The car was running 24psi, I changed the actuator spring for a 10-12psi one and judging from the minimum pressure reading it's got plenty of preload. The offsets are set to 0 (100) but it just cannot achieve the 1.65 bar it's meant to, it can't do more than about 1.4.

Has anyone had any experience of seting these up? Are they normally straight forward and trouble free, meaning there is something wrong with mine or do they need tweeking of the offset to achieve the correct boost (shouldn't according to the manual).

how much preload did you put on the actuator when fitting it back on the turbo, should be about quarter of the hole too short so you have to pull on the spring to actually hook it over the rod...

Dave, lack of preload and the gate blowing open was my first though (well afer a bit of ) so I wound the thing up so the hole was half covered. The EVC is recodring a minimum boost of just over 1 bar so given it's a 10-12 psi spring it doesn't appear to be running low on preload.

Any idea what kind of pressure there is on the exhaust side when the compressor is trying to push out 24psi?

silly question, but have you got a seperate mechanical gauge fitted aswell, not just going off the HKS display,,, i just had a thought that maybe there is a leak on teh pressure/vac line going to the HKS sensor...?
