I 'had' to go to Antigua last year with work. All I can say is that I would love to go back. The island is calm as *uck, absolutley beautiful place. We were at the St James Club in mamora (sp) at the bottom right of the island. Went to Shirley Heights on sunday which is one of the most memorable places Ive ever been in my life, would have loved to have been at the outpost with a loved one watching the sun go down with all the other islanders and steel bands etc, i had to make do with 6 other hairy arsed engineers but it was still pretty damn good! The food was spot on and im a fussy eater. We went kayaking in the bay and stuff and that was all free with the resort. Not sure what you look for in a holiday, the place certainly isn't lively although I believe up at St, Johns it is but we never made it there. We went to jolly harbour which was all good, nice casino their. Were off to the Grenadines this year, just waiting on the first payment then were out

my parents have been to Antigua, and thought the locals was very ignorant and spoilt the holiday for them! they also think that the guy who shot that couple out there, was the same guy pestering them all week to buy crap from him

This was the view from my room
Where the water changes colour in that pictrure theres some reef that a lot of people were snorkelling around. I never got to try it and im not sure what the rest of the island is like. Theres a lot of very nice resorts on that island, its just a pain to get around as the roads arent the best, we had a discovery so it wasnt too bad. Cant think of any bad points if im honest, everyone we spoke to over there loved it also.

we never mixed with the locals, the resort is private and gated off so we never met any. Up at the shirley heights it was rammed full of them all and some did seem arrogant but when your in a gang of lads you dont mind, I can see how it might be intimidating if your with your partner though and dont really want to get in a brawl. I think its a class thing tbh, we were in the resort getting pissed for nothing and nailing champagne and then you realise the people serving you all this earn next to fuck all, they must go home wanting to knock fuck out of the dog!
but I dont think I would go back for a holiday.

Did the evo have self tinting windows? I forget the guys name now but he said it had been seriously played with and was running big power. He had two, forgot which version they were now. Also saw one fast subaru on the island too
so I had a short holiday and got payed for it

Jtech which chalets were you in?
1st week we were in the row in the middle of the island with the jacuzzi's out the back. Not far up the main path from the pool.
2nd week we were on the other side of the island from where the pool is and in one where the decking was on stilts at the back and right at waters edge. NOT the posh ones out their own walkway though.
i HAVE to go back at some point to dive as i had my broken arm

we had a land villa, at the other end from the pool, just down from the top resturant..
awesome place eh?
i never belived all the pictuires i saw of it, but when i got there omg they we true it really does look like that

you can get married in Antiqua..... and like alot of the carribean islands there are places to go and not to go... as obviously you do stand out a little... that said there are places you wouldnt go at night in this country so.....
we went there and loved it... a beach for every day of the year.... awesome.
