90.8 was std, and depending on the condition of the block you may get away with 93mm

really? what's your reasons for not wanting to go long studs? i've not had personal experience of them, but i thought it was the tried and tested route by lots of different people

what would you use for high power YB's?

wire ringing is ok but...............i know someone who has a wire rung block and engine was rebuilt, for him to use wire rings again they told him he would need to get the block skimmed and the holes for the wire rings re cut and refit wires which tbh you can only skim the block so much...................

Plus wire ringing is about 160odd, and you can get the wrc gaskets for that nowadays.

PS james QEP dont do it anymore as matt doesnt do machining now!!

cleaned up block face and head face and a WRC gasket and ur onto a winner!!

Althou wire ringing althou old school does still work very well mate, althou like i said before either way costs as wire ringing you have to pay for the work done plus using a WRC one theres the cost of getting the block and head skimmed so their 100% flat to be safe.....

i'm sure i read a thread by Mark Shead ages ago saying you get inconsistency in sealing, it was either Mark or one of the other big tuners

i had a cometic on mine and it was perfect

Guess everyone has their opinions lol, i was going down the wire ringing route but the first place doing it damaged the block and had 2 fit 2 new liners then the 2nd place stopped doing it so proper got pissed off with it all and just decided to go the WRC route The block is already machined for long studs so should work ok once its all in the car
