for the past 2 weeks my life has been hell.i have been living and working on an oil rig with an american supervisor.he hardly says 2 words to me,he snores all night,he asks me to do something and when i do it the way i have been shown he calls me shit for brains as thats not the way he does it.i9 cant sit in the cabin and put whatever i want on t.v as its his room and i dont get them sort of privelages,he chews baccy and spits it at my feet when we are at our unit,he has insulted me and my wife,car,house,dogs,friends and has accused me of being gay.yesterday we had a big fallout over how many hours i had worked.legally i was right but as far as he was concerned i should have done a 24hr shift so he could get a full nights sleep because 'you gotta do it sometimes'.i was keeping myself right and got a reaming for it.i have put up with it because im still a trainee and want to get on at this job and make money to pay my mortgage,so why is it that assholes like him make your life hell just because they can to an extent.i cant wait to get the hell off of here tomorrow.p.s hes well known throughout the company and rig for being a prick to trainees.anybody else got a boss like this?

Thats just out of order IMO. The way he is talking to you is appauling. Don't care who he is, my dad won't talk to me like that, so i wouldn't have some arse talking to me like that!

its water off a ducks back,i was a bit hacked off yesterday.the management know hes a knob and i was told to keep my head down before i came out,thing is he said hes only ever had 2 trainees that have been any good and im in their league.but i think he likes talking down to folk,i told him i was a self employed plumber before and i left that as i wanted more time at home,he now comes out with stupid sly comments that i wasnt any good at that and thats how im here etc.hes been offered fights in the sack store before,he has hit trainees and run them off but he is good at his job and thats why hes still here.1 more night of snoring then im off.

This is so typical when a boss knows he has you fully under mannered due to the fact your on probation period or trainee. Best thing is don't let the job stop you from how you want to react against a bully like he sounds! tell him you won't put up with his behaviour anymore and that the abuse stops here! if he laughs go to one of those no win no fee firms and do the company for metal toture! i will pretty much hope the company will let the guy go shortly after that!

I was in a similar situation a while back, was brought into a compnay and to be fair it was good money etc but the guy i had to work with was a complete dick. I might of been.....workable in a 9-5 day situation but when your working away and pretty much in each others company for 5 days at a time it was murder. Theres few resonable options really, well atleast there was in my case. Set him straight......and get sacked,lol, or leave. The compnay wasn't interested in any other option for me, i was brought in to work with him and that was that.
Fucked them off and went back to honda is what i did.

keeping schtung did some good,i got a really good appraisal which is a rarity from this prick.its almost over now.but theres a chance i could get sent back as hes put that he would have me back,most trainees get an nrb,(not required back) so thats a good thing in the companys eyes.brownie points and all that.if hes still as bad next time ill say something but im not confrontational at all,thats why i try and shrug it off

Yep, worked with a guy like that, he was the foreman over us, I`m a spark. He was insult you, nothing you did was good enough and generally be a prick. I told our boss and he knew what he was like but never did anything. It ended up as a massive arguement and me not being allowed to work with him again. Result!!

I used to work with a lad who pissed everyone off, he was so ignorant and arrogant. He even got into scuffs at work over his attitude. Funnily enough I actually started to get on with him by giving as good as I got and he was ok with me. Sadly he hung himself in the end.

i work for a wanker and i think it's just a personality clash, he hates me and i do a better job than some of the other employees, but with him being the boss i'v only got 1 choice and that is too get myself out he want's me out i can see that so it's only a matter of time , i'm getting really stressed myself so no exactly where your coming from mate just try and ignore it and think of paying off your mortgage and that, all i think of is the money esp with the way the country is at the mo but i'll hopefully be out of it soon
