its his first ever race so he is just finding his feet

as jacko said, jim had his first ever race today and in damp conditions qualified a fantastic 14th out of 27, the race however proved to be very frustrating for him, Jim only had 888's and full wet tyres and on a dry track he was swamped in the first couple of laps,he hung on as best he could but the tyres/experience took it's toll as he came home 24th, early days yet and with the right tyres I'm sure he can climb up that grid.
Andy and charlie were flying as usual, really was a delight to see.

Jim's car has a yb with a t38 running around 430bhp, it has a 6 speed sequential box with paddle shift, traction control, anti lag etc aswell

he didn't do the original build but there has been a massive amount of changes since he got the car , it originally had a renualt transaxle (now a quaife 6 speed seq)and standard yb when it was finished in 97,(now a fresh msd built 430 ish) it was buillt by an ex f1 mechanic who built in then never used it before selling it to jim,

was a good day. weather was up n down all day , ag crew were flying, including a white evo that came down , good to see a few peeps and a bit of racing


well donwe to jim , did really well considering his cheif technician didnt bring full slicks and that it was his fist race !!!

As jacko has said, we found Jims car is 1 bar down on boost we tried all sorts but couldn't fix it, (think the air injector is being told to open up to early dunno why) this does now explain the lack of pace over the weekend, I'm sure it will soon be sorted an he can get more involved in the next round he enters.
as for the race today boost issue dropped him down the order until lap 5 when a water pipe near the turbo burnt through causing instant retirement..

he has a couple of sets of these including spare centres etc, don't think he could fit a better wheel really as the suit the car so well, A local guy has a set off his own previously owned rs200 but he wanted a hell of a lot for them as Jim tried to buy them last year..

Yes I know they cost a few quid.
The other set you mention I believe are now in Austraila.
If it is the same car, I did try to buy the wheels from Jim when he first purchased the car.
Just thought he might be upgrading the brakes as you can only get 330's (with wheel spacers) behind the wheels.
