you are so clearly as much as a twat as Dojj

if you saw a MK1 Bubble arched rep looking mint but it was a 1.3 from the factory to start with Im sure you'd still wank over it, how much of a true RS enthusiast does that make you?

Your making statments imo just to antaganise fellow RS owners of any stage.

and to say a car does not deserve the RS badge is stupid to the highest degree.

Im off to lunch now, Im sure when I pop back later there will be more rants from the twat with as yellow mk2 in his sig and pritty sure Dojj will come back on and spout some more uneducated verbal diarrhoea over the key board.

What actually makes a shit car?

Poor performance?
Lack of reliability?
Styling?
Lack of tuning options?
FWD/RWD?

The RS2k has performance to match the ERST's and is better equipt'd
The RS2k is very reliable
Ok the rs2k does lack distinctive styling, but I think this was a sign of the times at its conception
The RS2k has Plenty of tuning options
I dont think which end the power goes too makes or breaks a car

Its the 2nd fastest escort that Ford produced, the Ecos being the quickest of course.

I really think people slate them because they look bland, which is a shame as they are over looking a cracking car.

I had an RS2000 4x4 and thought it was a great car go for it if its a good price, also had 2 esc cos and a a rs500. depends what you want from a car. The ecs cos were unreliable money burners, the rs2k was nice to drive every day and you knew you could get from a to b with RA and C in the middle.

Retro AL i think your a bit narrow minded considering you have a sapp cos in your sig.

I once put an RS2000 engine into an XR4x4 and then turbocharged it - does that count?

So what parts on a standard mk5 Escort fits an escort cosworth?!?

i can only think of a couple of things, the escort badge on the boot (even the boot is different on the cosworth), the doors and mirrors belong to the escort, and the roof skin and part of the dash, the rest of the car is from the sierra, so i would say its more sierra than escort!

now where did i put my big shoes, red nose and squirty flower?

My dream car is an Escort Cosworth (the body shell is perfect in everyway) inside is a different story though! as they look cheap and nasty.
I went to buy an Escos, and after driving it im so glad that i didnt splash out and WASTE the 18k on it as it was over rated and handled like a P100 pickup (sierra based again if im not mistaken!) That sierra floor pan sure does get around!
So i stuck the money into building my (ESCORT) RS2000 4x4 into a 2.3Turbo as i felt my standard RS 2000 4x4 out performed the Escos in handling but was lacking the power that the cosworth has.
If ford had stuck a turbo on the RS2000 4x4 from factory im sure you cosworth boys would be singing a different tune! but i guess your like the turbo's your cars run.....
full of hot air!

Now i will stick my money where my mouth is and would gladly do a Grudge match which a certain mag does, and would race an escort cosworth round the track of the same Spec 300 - 350bhp and then let the results speak for themselves.

only 3 cossies worth owning rs500/3 door rs200 and the escort cosworth
saphire will never be a special cosworth in my eyes as the whale tail is what makes the cosworth what it is today!!! and the rs200 because of the pure fact that it looks evil, goes like stink and is very rare!!!!

The RS200 is not badged a Cosworth as far as I know? Use's a BDT that may have been developed by Cosworth?

So how about the 2.3 I4 engine that was developed by Cosworth, would that make any car running it a Cosworth or still a Cosworth if it where in a 3 Door RS?

That i cant comment on due to the fact i dont know, im only going by what you can see in the engine bay. That the rs200 has a cosworth 1804cc engine fitted.

My opinion is the Escort Cosworth is more Sierra than Escort as it has the Sierra floor pan
so its not a true escort where the escort rs 2000 4x4 is.

If that was the case every 2.0 16v vauxhall is also a cosworth so no a bit of design work on the cylinder head dosen't count.

can't see it in the pic mate, but i was refering to the I4 engine as found in the sierra which has the 100/110 fan switch (grey) which you can change with the diesel switch 100/105 (green) or the mondeo switch 95/100 (red)

the numbers may be a little off but it's been several years since i had one in front of me to check

although i'm not sure there is enough space to mount that set up on the rs2k as it looks like it's going to foul the inner wing if it's the same position as the sierra

in saying that, there was a switch for sale here which doesn't look to be the same

i have had 2x4x4 and 2 x front wheel drive rs2k and i think they are great car s very good for the money ,at least you can get the power down in them unlike my s1 and the fiesta turbo i have now,and defo the most reliable .
some of us are not that lucky to own the big rs brand names ie cossy focus ...so to slate them or compare them to each other is just stupid .

You need to clear the shit from your eyes then.

The Rs200 engine is indeed a cosworth design, but it was developed elsewhere for the RS200

Ps. The Fiesta ST's engine has had plenty of imput from Cosworth...is that a Cosworth too then?

the FWD version is the best variant of the Mk5 RS2000, cheap swift motoring, good base for a cheap track car.

Plenty of idiots on this thread.

It really annoys me when imbecile's (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/imbecile) slate the mk5/6 RS2000. Fact: In standard form the mk5/6 will out perform a standard mk2 on track! IMO RS2k deserves repect.

Im sure if you contact the following they will be more than happy to take YOUR VIEWS into consideration the next time they design a SHITE car. (http://www.ford.co.uk/Footer/ContactUs) Now excuse me as it appears i have to pop to the chemist.........any requests for clearasil or anulsol! I would think suppositories would be better as it clogs the hole that crap?? comes from!

i can't be arsed to read negativity, this is my opinion of the one i had.....

very good when you throw it around down country roads and roundabouts, the only standard 1982 onwards escort barring the escort cosworth you can slide around with the arse end out with the power on. they have just enough power to be lively but a turbo would of made them feel better.
i wouldn't mind a ride in a 4x4 rs2 with a n/a 2.3 donkey to see what mine would of felt like.

could be a mk5b as they did them in the 4x4, the mk5b is alot rarer then the mk6.
Buy it mate and enjoy it like any other rs, being a 4x4 its very rare so worth good money in the future if you clean it up a bit

When has the RS scene as a whole ever been judged on standard merit...RST's will always piss the RS2000's pound for pound unless BIG money is spent on 2.3 turbo's etc.. I know where a grand of my tuning £££ would go, not on fixing transfer boxes there's a clue.

In their own right they're pretty good cars, but as part of the brand they're crap...IMO.
