like i said, it was rods decision and that's fine... but i think most people would agree (as per Rapid 1) that if they read in the mag that his car did 185 (he did 180 on the way to the cafe safely without even trying!) at 80% and everyone else did 170-175 at 100% they'd go, "f***ing hell, that's the bollocks!"

Ben you should know that a High profile car like Rods Has to be always run at 100% or the haters will always knock what you are doing,
For me unles this is the case its not running, We are making changes for more power slightly better gearing Hopefully to go faster and also Improve the 0/150time and also do a 0/200mph aswell,
The Car would have been ready for the thrash but in life you find people dont always do what you ask 100% correct,
Rods car was booked in to have a 3.5inch exhaust made for it Ready to take it there I once again confirmed that it was a 3.5 system for them to say they only do 3inch after saying thats ok for a 3.5inch,
Thats why it was not run.

Just elaborating on opinions that people have expressed further up and in understand what you're saying.
I don't think it does do harm, Scotty's proved that by turning up with his Focus and running at every thrash no matter - at 70%, 100%, 95% etc., and the respect he gets for that is deservedly huge.

PS - I wouldn't be so bothered about the haters - they're not the kind of people that a) deserve to be impressed or b) spend the money with you so why be so bothered about them. You and I know that the haters will (and have) knock/ed you even if you do everything right!!! So f*** 'em!

...and whats wrong in that...no point keep doin 200mph for the hell of it and wearing the car out IMO.....Although i feel they might aswell retire the car as no one else will crack 200mph @ Brunters ......

Ye dont go out to do 200 everytime but give it some use, it 0-150 times aint too shabby either u know, what i been saying all along is it aint just top speeds everyone interested in

Ye everyone knows it as the 200mph cossie (and KNOWONE can ever take that away from ROD that it was the FIRST to do it ) but IF he was to run over the 1/4 say it even more enjoyable for the crowds to watch, how many people actually get to see it do 200mph (im probably not going about this the right way to get an invite to its next big run so doubt i ever will )

All in all as i keep reiterating would just love to see the car go

Anyway shouldnt u be away speccing an engine to compete

At the end off the day mark and rod set out to achieve a goal and they did it why should they put on a show to all, it costs huge amounts of money not only to build but run and maintain a car like that and I dont here of mags or sponsors etc putting up funds (towards) running the car to make it more viable to run often and risk damages, Anyone who has done a day at brunters know it dont come for free despite not having to pay an entrance. I mean first you go cafe before even gettin on the track

Thats not entirely fair is it Ben??? You are making out that you formally invited me and I turned you down!!!

The facts are these, my car had been at Scottys since the wheel bearing failed at Bedford. I took the day off work to go and get it. On the way down I called Scotty and he said he was just popping over to Brunters but Simon was still there and I could pick the car up. I thought it would have been nice to pop along on my way home to say hello to you guys, see Sean and Brom and also give Scotty the money for fixing the sierra. I asked if I could pop down and you said I can only pop along if I was going to run the car. I replied that the car hasn't even been started in 2 weeks, and has some brake issues, but I was told I wasn't welcome I was a bit miffed at the time to be honest and even considered booking myself in at the gate and doing a few highspeed runs past you just to be an ass

I don't really do these straight line thrashes as everyone knows but with some more notice or a proper invite I am sure me or Dan and Martin would have got the car there and had a blast as I suspect Martoon is probably missing going VERY fast... and he got a small taste of it again when he and Karl had the car well past 180mph whilst mapping it!

I've always got on well with you in the past, love the mag and respect your work, and I also realise you can't always keep everyone happy and certainly don't want to start a row. BUT to say you invited me to run the car is a bit harsh!

I also think you probably should have invited Warren Kelly whos car has already done over 180mph at Brunters at his first attempt, even if he is a nothern monkey.

No hard feelings this end now though, and as I said before you do have a very hard job keeping everyone happy.

P.S I even think the Sierra was sulking at not being invited as well because on the way home it was going very very well!
