Grip dont matter much, as it dont on terminal speeds on 1/4mile (well even less so) as when you wheelspinning you not moving forward fast anyhow, so stop with all the "ooh its slippy" excuses, that only works with timed runs, not top speeds

Not a huge power/weight difference over the Kaliber Cossie tho is it Thats got perspex windown n allsorts...

That fiesta from yesterday was well under 500bhp if it was running 24psi on a GT30.

And no grip with FWD so that shows that launch grip dont make much odds on top speed within that distance.

Jus that Paul J's fiesta is a good modern spec, no need for excuses, its the far faster car in a stright line.

yeah compared to the kaliber one i agree, the old mans has all the seats in, plus sounds(amps etc), and a rollcage, where as the fezzie is fully spripped out and weighs as much as a coke can.

but i do fully agree that fezzie is amazing with out a doubt, well done paul

A lot of them were invited but either couldn't make it or the cars weren't ready.

At a guess, I would imagine that they got promised the earth by some new cars that have never been seen in the mag before, so they decided to go with these rather than the "known" ones, in the hope of showing something that hadn't been seen before. Obviously, this doesn't count with the A1 Rallysport cars which always are allowed to attend due to their "special" relationship with Ben (they're lovers didn't you know? ) But you're better off asking the PF bods .

Hi
By far the best car of the day for me , This car will do 180 im sure, but not on the gearing he had today. None yes none of the cars today had the correct gearing for the task in hand, such a pity that so little thought is given to this most vital point.
Kaliber car also ran to Spec.

Karl,
It uses the traditional 6 long studs.

The headgasket has blown out at the front of cylinder number 1 (i.e. above the water pump) and is a failure that is associated with any dis-similar studded block. (I.e. failure caused by difference in clamping force between different methods of clamping)

Cylinder head clamping must be uniform and is why I never have recommended 6 long studding. Nutter's engine sadly adds to the ever growing list of failures I've seen on this type of head clamping.
another block for the bin then karl ???

Is that right then? For the first year like ever, the RST boys were faster top speed (Black Mentalist Fiesta RST), 0-60 + 0-100 ( Paul R's FRST), than the Cossie boys? i must be dreaming mad

Well done all those who attended, i'm going to have a go one day, although it will probably be for 'Classic Ford' what with me running a RS1600i
