Default Putting a zetec lump in an xr2

how easy is this to do i mean is there alot of made up things 4 it like adapter plates and things or will i have to get things made up myself and cut and chop wires about and stuff or will it be quite easy to do?

I wouldnt say its easy, but its not too difficult
Quite a few people have managed it and one of my mates is currently starting a zetec engine conversion in his mk2 fiesta

Depends which zetec your putting in. I know that the black top 2.0 zetec needs some sort of adapter plate fabricating to allow the efi manifold to bolt in place, I'm not not sure if this is the case with the silver top 2.0 though. The 1.8 will fit in very easily requiring very little to get it running, in fact it might just be a case of switching the ecu and engine loom over, oh and the block of course.

I know on the mk2 and I'm sure it's the same on the mk3 if you fit the 2.0 you have to change the sump to the 1.6 or 1.8 item to allow the downpipe to exit in the correct position. You may also need the cvh oil filter.

also you need to modify the xr2 engine mounts for the zetec to fit

Or use RS1800 mounts, they work for fitting the 2.0 too.

cheers i will set up a thread when i start doing it

im thinking a 1.8 from my escort cabiolet as i only got this 4 the summer lol plus 1.8 seems abit easyier to do
