See if you lose your mobile phone and then claim a replacement through insurance, do you lose your phone number?

no but they block the old one so no one else can use it

As said, they will just block your old sim and issue you a new one, useing your old number.

depends if your on pay as you go or contract. if your pay n go, its bye to that number, contract can issue you another sim with the same number.

you can insure pay n go phones now.
