Default ERST Hi/Low Boost switch wiring

Someone told me how to wire a Hi/Low boost switch in my friends escort series 2 and i just want to double check it is the correct way

1. Remove plug from amal valve.

2. Run earth to on side of amal valve

3. Run a fused ignition live into switch then into other side of amal valve

4. To control high boost use jet in the return hose, drilled to aprox 3mm for between 1/1.5 bat of boost and adjust hole accorindly to set hi boost?

Thanks

tbh your best off with an in car bleed valve or get a proper boost controller.

not to mention your car will not be set up for 2 different settings.
So on low boost it would run rich then run lean when you run more boost

It is going for a set up this week.

So i would be best just leaving it and getting it set on hi boost?

When it is on low boost is it not the same as say driving it on high boost but not boosting it to say a bar but holding it at .5 bar?

I dont know so dont shout please

stu, thats is NOT correct for an escort RS Turbo

on a correctly set up car you can safely turn the boost down as far as you wish without having any negative effects.

infact pon pretty much any CORRECTLY set up car you can do that

So if i wire it up this way it will be fine?

I know on the cosworth i have a hi.low switch by cutting wire into pin 16 on ecu but i wasnt sure about the rs turbo as the cosworth is alot more controlled by the ecu that the rs turbo.

Thanks

My FRST runs exactly like that, Amal valve earthed one side with a switch running from a fused 12V supply. Amhed @ Grove set it up. Think its 17psi low boost, 21-22 high boost.
