I'm sure the st200 box has different ratio's m8, thats the only difference

my st200 is also my tow car and is getting a new clutch next week as the original is now struggling to clear the gears!

Yup, it's different. It will fit, but it has different ratios as Steve said.

You can swap the planet gears out of any other MTX75 gearbox though, as that's what will have gone.

If it's any consolation, I'm in exactly the same boat, and will be getting my box out next week if I can spare the time away from work!

Yeah sounds like mine. Apparently they munch the planet gears for a hobby. Problem is ST200 boxes are very thin on the ground as I discovered.

Interesting... think I'll be steering clear of 1/4 mile action in mine after reading that they have an appetite for screwing up under hard use, that launch pic does looks good though!!

Matt,

Give the boys at Central Axle Services a ring and tell them that Jeff from Geartech suggested you give them a call. Tell them you just want the diff and bearings doing in the box and they should be able to sort you out. They are in Brum as well so you wont have to travel too far.

Agreed that the diffs are the weak point in the box hence the reason why I have a pair of spares boxes sat at my old mans place with Quaiffes in waiting until mine need either a clutch or box doing.

went to Shefield today to collect an ST200 gear box, cant believe how thin on the ground these boxes are also most parts now

any one know how many ST200's were made?

any way got it back to the lock and realised it matched another box Ive had sat about for 2 years

Brand New Highdrolic MTX75, was a prototype box for a racing company, cant remember whitch one

pics

going to have the one I picked up stripped and checked and maybe use the brand new casing i have

update on info gained lol

the Pro-Drive R&D one is most likely an early Touring Car one befor sequential (sp) was placed into the car back when Nigel Mansell drove the ST200 Touring Saloon

Pro-Drive aparently built all the Ford Touring Cars in that series.

Info gained from MarcoPolo also employees of R&D Cages.
