200SX turbos? Anyone had/got one? What did ya think?

They all called Silvias in Japan, Oz etc.
But in the UK they were just called S13 and S14 200SX's, apart from the S12, which was called Silvia Turbo
Its very confusing, itd take an essay to describe it all, but basicly every country barring Japan has the names muddled up or wrong for some reason...

ive driven both an s13 and 14a and the 14a was miles better
couldnt beleive how good it was for the money went to look at it with a mate, cant remember what plate it was but was an se i think, 100k but with full history, purple sort of colour totaly standard apart from a tastey tubuler turbo manifold got it for £2700 and it felt pretty blody quick to me pulled shit loads harder than the s13 i drove and that had a few mods and tweeked boost.
GO GET ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Them tubular manifolds cost fuck all too, think bren does em for 250quid or somthing stupid
Shings- Std performance is 200bhp, 60 in 6, and 140 tops, i pretty sure.
Thing is thats a BAD description as with the std exhaust it dies out about 5500rpm, with a FULL system on it revs to 7500 totally freely

Mark4- not sure mate, but i have a feeling SR20DET rods are good for about 500bhp when shot peened and crank for at least the same, i think a lot more, i bet you wont find anyone whos snapped the crank thru power, only thru bad oil system (not the cranks fault) or det (again, not the cranks fault)
If i was going big power (ie 500bhp+ id go for aftermarket rods anyhow, dont cost much as long as you dont buy ones with a Jap badge on it...)

I've been doing over time on this.. went to an owners club meet the other night and got a ride out in a 270 brake one.
Wasn't anywhere near as good as my escort but seemed well enuff...
Going to look at an S14a on sunday... so all being well.. sideways here I come.

Ascar exhaust get undeneath mate and make SURE its big bore (at least 2.75") and ALL the way from the turbo back, as the entire exhast from turbo back is very restrictive and Ascar custom jobs ive seen are 2" and noticably slower because of it, SXs are very sensitive to crap exhausts in my experience...
Nismo suspension? Hmmm, id want some proof there.
Looks good tho mate, and the interior you deffo want, tis well smart

"itsmeagain", Brens car is currently undergoing some major engine work, including a stroker kit and a T78 turbo
also the MO's are now resigned to track days.

Get under n look at the exhaust, they easy to lie under.
Can see if its got a turbo back exhaust from the engine bay, i bet it hasnt but they VERY worthwhile, revs far far better with a 3" turbo back, rather than the shit 2" downpipe on stuff ive seen (one of my mates has one like that and its noticable more wank, esp at high revs.
Nismo susp, well TBH ive never seen Nismo susp on a S14a in my life, lol, so just ask for reciepts, Nismo parts are incredibly expensive so id expect to see a recipet for 1.5k+ at least. Id guess susp is std, looks std ride height for 18s in that pic. Std susp is fucking good for the rd so id not bother too much.
Comes with a rear diff oil cooler as std too

that purple 200SX has near on a grands worth of Blitz exhaust and custom made 3" down pipe from the turbo with both cats removed.....SERIOUSLY loud!!

Black or blue 14a purple at an outside..
I want some decent trims... suspension or some sort, boost controller zorst and a filter. Low ish miles 80k or less
Thats what I am looking at getting done to one if I buy it so as they're pretty bomb proof I'd buy one with it done.
