Thats why i went and bought a cam pulley shield for my cossie as there was none fitted on my car when i bought it.
I used to wonder if i put my fingers through the pulley teeth if the belt might jump cos of the bone, or would it run straight through mashing finger and crushing bone to dust.

I appreciate that practically no-one could give him a proper reply except this one.
In reply to you and to j1mbo, I get that feeling all the time and it means I cannot stand next to the edge of a railing on a ferry, it just trips me out totally and all i want to do is jump. Must be some fear complex wondering what it would be like and how bad it would feel to fall and then be stranded at sea waiting to drown.
Jim, in my experience, the best idea is to move away from the edge
It is like you are kinda daring yourself to do it. Sometimes I feel the urge to steer into on coming traffic on single carriage way roads, which is quite similar. Change reality in one second. Perfectly normal driving followed by instantly being involved in a major head on collision.
I think it is quite a bit to do with being bored too or unhappy in a situation. It is just an adverse reaction to a situation. Best to work out what the issue is and change that instead!
Hope a reasonably serious reply helps.
Cheers

I get this alot lately.
I work on the Manchester Ship Canal and i always stand on the edge and think what if i jumped in and seriously get the urge to jump.
Aswell cause i am electrician and if i ever expose live cables or anything, i always get the urge to touch them and think what would happen.
Very strange.
