are you lot mental, why pay stupid premiums for a car thats not worth a wank

sorry but i wouldnt pay it, i was quoted 2500+ when i turboed my first cabrio, but 1200 when it was standard, both on provisional licence, i never payed the extra and got tugged, my fine for no insurance was 100 quid , mmmmmmmmmmmm so to me its actually worse of following the law

sorry but i hate insurance companys, i will avoid paying the stupid quotes in anyway i can

would i foook ever pay that though, they really aint that fast to pay them quotes

Haha, great, a job and some ideas for insurers....uhm.....thanks?? lol

Hehe, I'll see what mum says about being insured on her policy. Except the previous response has been ...
'why do you want an old ford when you can drive my mx5 kate? isnt it lovely kate? mazdas janapese kate, its red kate, how do I wash the car kate? Do you want to drive my car kate, I won't let you drive my car kate, you'll crash my car kate...'

Sometimes I think it's easier to just pay the money lol....at least that way I won't be sectioned under the mental health act due to my mother incessant nagging =)
Seriously though, thank you for all your help guys =)
This pass-plus thing usually counts as 1yrs no claims though doesn't it, so should knock it down a bit. =)

When I was 17, which was a year ago I was getting quoted about 2G's fro a 1.3 L reg escort of most companys needless to say I had to use "the maw" to get it cheapo. I can just imagine trying to get it on an RST I may as well have been flying thru hell in an ICE suit

As per Rudey, fully comp a 950 fezzie in your name, buy and insure RST just for your mother, then drive RST on your any car policy. Load of hassle but reckon it will be cheaper than on your own & get no-claims

not with cirtain policys, also when ya go to court all they check is if ya insured to drive any car

i know as my made had a right fooked up policy, said he had held a licence for 5 years, he was on a provisional and when he got donem went to courtm said he did have insurance, they checked and all was fine

its very hard to get a drive on any car policy at 17 as insurers aint stupid

i say buy a 1300 escort and do it up to look like a erst, that way ya dont get the loaded preimium and the car wont be parked beside phils for 3 years

dont pay shit loads to a company, thats why they charge sooooooooo much as people will pay it

Kate, try a search engine that does the work for you, this one searches over 450 companies to try and find you the best quote www.theinsurancecentre.co.uk I personally would get a car with a really low insurance group such as a Saxo to start with then move on to cars with a bit more power. Whatever you decide to do good luck with it.

RST and 17 years old ain't gonna go together are they. Build up NCB and then get one, but by that time no one will want one

In all seriousness Katie, tell your mum to clear off cause you're building up the no claims for your future cossie or whatever other powerful car you get. I'm almost 23 and will only just have got my license by the time my birthday comes hopefully and I really do wish I'd have started driving and things at 17 cause instead of looking at an Escort Si next year I'd be looking at a MK2 RS2k

yeah, someone else needs to be insure on the RS.

Katie, Diamond won't insure you on an RST as they say you need to be 21 or over. i tried them.

2.5 is a joke though. worth more than the car. to be fair, they are a bit shit, especially when you consider other cars for similar money.

when i'm an old fogie i'll be getting an S1 though. love them.

Cars parked or used on the road should have insurance.

also, you need the car insured to obtain a tax disc for it.

Personally, i'd never pay over £1k for insurance again, let alone £2k+
