Anybody got any tips for keeping the stuff down ,had a few nice days and the stuff is taking over my pond already.

Some of the lads at work have been talking about a powder they chuck into the pond which breaks down blanket weed, leaving the pond clear as bell in a day or so without harming the fish not sure what its called though.
