hi i have just aquired my first saffy stage 3 dyno printouts proving 364bhp,320lb torque and i am a bit dissapointed to be honest ...i always thought cossies were rapid but in a straight line mine cant even really leave my mates 02 bmw 325 compact .....now i am in a pickle as to what is the best car for under 10k i.e scoobys,evo,e36 m3,astra gsi , cosworth, silvia ,s3

i just dont know what to do as none of them have the class and feel and ledgendness of a saffy

 

Must be something wrong with your saff if you can't shake off a 192bhp bmw!

 

i just think people think they are faster than they actually are

 

a 360bhp saph should murder a 190(?)bhp BMW compact...

A 360bhp saff will fuck over every bmw(in a straight line i may add), but a late model m3 or m5.

How long ago was the dyno done? 360bhp saff shud leave a bmw 325 stood still imo

take a look at what you just wrote above mate.sort of answers your own question.id get your car to a tuner and get it looked at.goota be something wrong

 

Is it boosting correctly etc, you got any air leaks? shud get it checked over by a reptuable tuner mate

right i own a 360bhp m3 csl and i used to own a 330bhp saff cos, now dont get me wrong my m3 csl is quick but my saff felt quicker i think so thats whu im selling the bmw to fund a 400ish brake escort cos which will murder the m3 csl, the csl does do 185mph though as its deristricted lol

 

there must be something badly wrong with mine then ...i have been spun over i suppose but you live and learn at 22 i have no experiance with cossies but have wanted one since i was about 12 ......

What is the car 4x4 ? If It is then it should still be fairly impresive expescially coming from an st170, if its a 2wd then then there must be something wrong as it should go like sh*t off a shovel , mine was 2wd & 318hp an that was bloody quick....

if you were only having a 'race' with that bmw over very short distance, as in thru 1st and 2nd gear, then you aint ever gonna piss away from them.

 

it is a 2wd !! , id get it checked over by a decent tuner to make sure everythings as it should be b4 giving it any more beans lol....

Some things definatley not adding up..

 

have you got a boost gauge? what is the psi or bar on full boost?

must be something wrong
what's the spec?

 

Were you using the gears or just flooring it in 5th and hoping for the best?

 

somethings up,a standard car would empty a 325

 

standard cossies are slow in any model period..., a 325 e36 or e46 would see off a standard sapph maybe just!, but it wouldn't be a rocket ship either like a lot of people seem to think, but yeah as everyone else is saying with that sort of power you should be living it well behind, or there is something really wrong with your car, or the graphs are wrong/fake, does the car look highly modded as you don't say wants been done.

for under 10k there are loads out their, rx7, 300zx (well cheap, but a pig to work on), supra tt, skyline r33/r34, evo's etc just to name a few, cossies aren't what you should be looking at if you what to go fast! unless you have very deep pockets

 

i had a rolling race with a brand new m3 (50ph),and i left it behind like it was a 1.1 fiesta ,he thought it was funny to practicaly touch my bumper and flash his lights trying to make me pull over ,i just dropped to 4th and he disapeard in my mirror ,i know my car is lighter than a saph ,but still any 2wd saph with genuine 360bhp and 320lb tourque is a fast car if drive correctly?

 

more closeup pics of the enginebay needed to work out the basics of your spec.

i suspect you've been mislead on the cars performance potential and its probably just an everyday stage3 car thats not running right.

the big giveaway will be the colour of the injectors

 

A genuine 2wd 360/320 Saff is a bloody quick car Trevor, i,m struggling to see how it can/does disappoint you tbh, i think a well setup stage 3 cossie is one of the best fun/bang for buck road car around...My 3 dr was a hoot on a NMS Stage3...

 

If the print out is before you got the car u not think they gave u a dodgy print so that u bought the car?? (possibly knowing somthing was up)

 

a mate of mine has a 365bhp 4x4 cossie and my e36 m3 evo is 315bhp and are identical from 40 to 155.
just he beats me on pull off, at the pod he ran a 12.8 and i done a 13.2
so i would of thought you should be able to beat your mates 325 quite easy.

 

What sort of cash is the CSL up for?

Trevorcossie,your cars broken mate !.The last time mine was rolling roaded it was 310(2wd) on greens -34 at 20psi on a crap t3.Its since had bits changed (so its probably less) but it will still go hunting for something to munch.I have owned/driven a few bm's including 3/5 series,yeh ok 325s can be a hoot but they aint cossie killers.What colour injectors are you running,what turbo and at what boost.
