I have one, I used to use the rig on my van, the aerial didn’t look to bad at all but the aerial on my car would look hideous, it’s a meter tall, can you get the smaller aerials like the taxi's two way radios or will they not work?
I might just sell it all, must be worth Ł50 for a whole rig?

I have one that i used in my Merc. I did buy a small(ish) aerial but couldn't fit it anywhere so ended up with a mahoosive one ![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
Not sure about the 2 ways and their aerials, they are better quality and have a longer range but would also like to know if you can mix and match to get better range out of the CB, doubt it though...

Does anyone still use these? I know its not going to be as busy as what it was in the 80's. The last time I plugged one in, it was dead.
They bring back some memories for me

ive got a small 1 on my truck, but got a massive 1 aswell and can hear bloody every1 with that, swarf it in with a swarf meter and it'll reach full potential, might not be massive range say 2-3mile but you dont want to hear for miles, gets annoying![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)

me & a load of mates used to be well into it, park up a hill in wales smoke a shit load of gear and chat away all nite. In the summer when the weathers hot the signal travels alot further spoke to people in germany france spain and most of europe. there was a bank in borermhamwood high street and if you keyed up with 500 watts the alarm would go nuts and all the shutters would go down

had one years ago.. harrier CBX with the sigma4 arial and echo chamber thingy, you could speed up the echo with the slider, also if anyone remembers Boots.. nickname for the power boosters ect to up the power, i hooked mine upto a car battery for the amps as the power supplies were only like 5-8 amp and ran a earth wire from the base to the central heating pipe.. always remember when keying up on mine a mates needle used to get stuck and had to tap it to unstick it lol
after the CB`s were not getting used much the BBS boards came popular then the inter net became more known with the BBS`s linked to the Telnet, BBS boards died out as everything was just done on the net.. Mirc anyone!?
